Aaron Ramsey breaks his silence with five-word transfer statement amid talk of Arsenal return

Aaron Ramsey appears to have ruled out a return to Arsenal this summer.

Last month transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the midfielder would be put up for sale this summer by Juventus and interestingly a return to the Emirates Stadium could be on the cards.

“Aaron Ramsey would love to join Arsenal again. At Juventus he is struggling, he’s not playing, many injuries,” Romano told The Arsenal Lounge. “He will be on the market 100 percent, he will be available, if Arsenal want to go for Ramsey, they know they have the chance.

“But at the moment there’s nothing advanced or serious with Ramsey yet.”

As of yet, there has been no indication that Arsenal would be interested in re-signing Ramsey whose estimated transfer value – via the CIES Football Observatory – is €10million (£8.6m).

But the Wales international has admitted that things haven’t quite gone to plan since swapping north London for Turin almost two summers ago.

“It has obviously been a very frustrating period for me over the last couple of years,” Ramsey told Sky Sports. “I’ve picked up a few small niggly injuries which have been frustrating and not been able to get any consistency going.

“So, yeah it has been frustrating.

“When you arrive to a new club and you want to hit the ground running and show everyone what you’re capable of doing consistently, that’s always going to be difficult when you have these little injuries that set you back a couple of weeks.

“And to chuck in Covid as well which hasn’t helped.”

Ramsey was then asked about his future and he replied with a five-word statement.

“I’m a Juventus player, yes,” he added.

Ramsey is under contract with Juve until 2023 and in 22 Serie A appearances this season he scored twice and assisted five.

Although, it was a disappointing season for The Old Lady under Andrea Pirlo.

Juventus were able to salvage some pride by qualifying for the Champions League for next season, but it wasn’t enough to see Pirlo avoid the sack with Max Allegri returning for a second spell.
