Andre Onana will be able to train from September and play in November after his doping ban appeal was reduced.
The Ajax goalkeeper had been waiting on the verdict before deciding whether to move this summer.
Whilst a fee is yet to be agreed between the Gunners and the goalkeeper’s current employers Ajax, football.london understands that Onana is Arsenal’s main goalkeeping target and will be brought in to replace Bernd Leno.
Arsenal’s interest has been well known for some time with Mikel Arteta reportedly keen to bolster his goalkeeping options ahead of next season.
Bernd Leno’s long-term future is uncertain whilst Mat Ryan has returned to Brighton & Hove Albion following his loan spell at the Emirates Stadium came to an end.
Onana will be able to train again after September 4, while he can resume playing football from November 4.
