Alexander Isak, Granit Xhaka – All the latest Arsenal transfer rumours ahead of January window

The January transfer window is now just six weeks away.

Arsenal could look to dip into the market, given the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey and Nicolas Pepe will be competing at the Africa Cup of Nations and therefore missing out on a number of New Year fixtures.

The Gunners spent in excess of £140million in the summer window and may also look to offload a number of fringe players in the coming months, whilst Eddie Nketiah, Alexandre Lacazette and Mohamed Elneny are all well into the final year of their respective contracts at the club.

With that being said, brings you the latest Arsenal transfer rumours from the last 24 hours.

Reported Arsenal target Alexander Isak has perhaps given the Gunners the upper hand in their pursuit of his services, admitting that Thierry Henry is his footballing idol.

Speaking to Swedish YouTube channel Min Stora Dag, he said: “I have a lot of football players who I have looked up to and have taken a lot from.

“But if I have to name one I would say Thierry Henry who I have really liked all the time and where I see many qualities that I have tried to follow.”

Granit Xhaka

Corriere dello Sport

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was heavily linked with a move to Serie A outfit Roma throughout the summer before a move eventually failed to materialise, with the Swiss captain opting to stay at the Emirates Stadium when the Italian giants refused to meet the Gunners asking price.

Now, Corriere dello Sport have reported that Jose Mourinho’s side could renew their interest in Xhaka, depending on how he recovers from his current knee injury.

The 29-year-old collided with Tottenham frontman Lucas Moura during September’s north London derby and has been sidelined ever since.

Arsenal have reportedly begun talks with Real Madrid over a potential move for wantaway playmaker Isco.

The Spanish international has fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons, starting just two matches so far this term as a move away from the Bernabeu appears increasingly likely.

Now, the 29-year-old is named as a potential target for Mikel Arteta’s side, who will be short in the midfield area come January when Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny head to the Africa Cup of Nations
