Guardiola fires Sterling warning

Should Lacazette depart, one player that the Gunners could potentially look to bring in is former transfer target Raheem Sterling.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has called for more improvement from the winger after a recent goal rush.

Talking in a press conference, the Spaniard said: “Scoring goals gives a lot of confidence, but still he knows he can do better and be aggressive and win duels one against one and arrive in the final third.

“This is a step to get back to his best form.”

Keown pushes for Wenger return

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has urged for Arsene Wenger to be given a role at the north London club.

The prospect of the Frenchman’s return had been mentioned by Mikel Arteta over the past few days and Keown wants to see him come back.

He said: “Why not [have Wenger back at Arsenal]? It seems to be the sensible fit for the club. Arsenal is a family as we call it then yeah bring him back and welcome him.

“Whether it’s in a proper role than that’s another matter – something that needs to be looked at – but I think it’s right and proper to bring him back in.”
