Five wonderkids to save Arsenal millions
Mikel Arteta continues to push ahead with his plans to rejuvenate his first-team squad.
The January transfer window saw Arsenal focus mainly on offloading high earners, trimming their squad rather effectively, but this summer will see the Gunners turn their attention towards securing incoming players once again.
Eye-catching deals occurred last summer with the signings of Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes, while the capture of Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid in January also laid out a statement of intent.
However, their approach could change this summer after seeing young players prove their worth in the first-team fold – with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe standing out as the biggest success stories.
The timing of this couldn’t be more perfect, as finances are still relatively limited due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Thankfully, young players breaking into the squad do not cost a transfer fee and we have highlighted five players who could save Edu millions in the transfer market.
Thierry Henry declaration
Thierry Henry has deactivated his social media accounts after declaring that the platforms are not taking racist and hateful abuse seriously enough.
This season has seen several high profile Premier League players targeted online, with Arsenal players Eddie Nketiah, Willian, Granit Xhaka, and Hector Bellerin among those to have received hateful comments.
The rise in online abuse saw English football’s authorities unite to call upon Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to do more to combat the issue in a joint letter back in February.
And now Henry has joined them in calling on the tech giants to do more to combat the issue, deciding to remove himself from all social media platforms until more is done”.

Odegaard gets new nickname
Some Arsenal fans are back with another hilarious transfer theory that involves Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland.
Earlier in the week, a hint that Haaland wants to play for the Gunners was ‘spotted’ when the striker was simply shielding his eyes away from the sun.
This has hilariously prompted a theory that he was copying Nicolas Pepe’s goal celebration.
And now a video of Haaland and Odegaard interacting on international duty has garnered a reaction on Reddit, with the latter earning a new nickname.
PhantomPartey said: “Agent Odegaard.”
HeilRamsey! said: “Current Gunner and future Gunner, you love to see it.”
