Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Sunday, 20 June.

Arsenal after Portuguese frontman

Arsenal are considering making a move for one of the hottest strikers in Europe right now, Andre Silva.

That is according to Duncan Castles who said on The Transfer Window Podcast that the club have done a lot of groundwork to sign the £40m-rated forward.

However, if they were to move for him, they’d have to sell Alexandre Lacazette this summer – the Frenchman has just one year left on his deal.

Lacazette enjoyed a good season for the Gunners, but this summer is the last chance Arsenal have to sell him and receive a fee.

Tierney agrees new long-term contract

Kieran Tierney has agreed a new five year contract with Arsenal which he will sign in the coming days, as reported by football.london.

The defender was one of the few positives from Arsenal’s dreadful 2020/21 season, and he has been rewarded with a lucrative new deal.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are confident that Emile Smith Rowe will commit to a new contract. Contrary to recent media reports however, the England youngster is not ‘close’ to signing an extension.

Defender set to leave club despite Arteta’s attempts to keep him

Arsenal defender Zech Medley will join Belgian side K.V. Oostende on a permanent transfer, football.london understands.

The 20-year-old centre back, who spent last season on loan at Gillingham and Kilmarnock, is expected to head to Belgium in the coming days, with the Gunners inserting a sell-on clause in the deal and having first option on the player if he leaves Oostende.

It’s understood that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was keen on keeping Medley, but the youngster has decided to seek a new challenge in the Belgian top flight where he’s expected to play regular first team football.
