Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Saturday, May 29.

Bellerin’s situation explained

Hector Bellerin’s potential move to Real Betis is ‘difficult, but not impossible’, sources have told football.london.

The Gunners full-back has two years remaining on his deal at the Emirates Stadium, but is keen to leave the club this summer after more than a decade in north London.

The 26-year-old defender is wanted by the La Liga side, and they have already spoken with his agent over a potential summer switch.

Talks are set to continue with a number of clubs as Bellerin looks to depart London this summer.

Xhaka edges closer to Gunners exit

Roma are confident of signing Granit Xhaka this summer, football.london understands, with the Switzerland international keen to leave Arsenal.

Xhaka is happy in London but is attracted by the idea of working under new Roma boss Jose Mourinho, whom he has huge respect for.

The Switzerland midfielder has made more than 200 appearances for the Gunners since making the switch to the Premier League in 2016.

Two years ago, Mourinho heaped praise on Xhaka: “Xhaka is the main man in the entire Arsenal midfield, you can’t see it unless I lend you one of my eyes.

“Without him, Arsenal is lost. He is a leader. Remember, mistakes are made by humans.”

Villa’s financial power and what it means for Buendia deal

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa have the financial muscle to outbid Arsenal for target Emiliano Buendia this summer.

football.london understands that Buendia is subject of interest from the Gunners after another fine season from the Norwich City star.

The report claims that the Argentine playmaker’s two most prominent suitors ahead of the summer are the Gunners and Villa.

If this is indeed true and Arsenal miss out on Buendia, then the Kroenkes could come under even more pressure for one of Mikel Arteta’s top targets.
