Arsenal fans’ forum live: Josh Kroenke responds to Super League, protests and ownership

Arsenal are due to hold a fans’ forum this afternoon, with supporters expected to grill club chiefs on the European Super League shambles.

Late on Sunday, it was confirmed Arsenal – along with Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur – were founding members of the new breakaway league.

The six Premier League clubs, along with their Spanish and Italian counterparts, would not have expected the fierce backlash it received from fans, players, pundits, managers, the media and the general football world.

After 48 hours of intense criticism, Arsenal withdrew from the competition on Tuesday night – as did their fellow Premier League clubs.

That hasn’t stopped the anger, though, with protests against the ownership planned ahead of Friday’s game with Everton at the Emirates Stadium, while supporters also have the chance to grill club chiefs this afternoon.

Josh Kroenke is due to appear and will be joined by chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and technical director Edu for the 30-minute call which is scheduled to start from 4.30pm.
