Arsenal fans spot potential Martin Odegaard transfer hint amid talk of Real Madrid exit

Arsenal fans believe Martin Odegaard is getting very comfortable at the Emirates Stadium.

Odegaard has now been with the Gunners for just over a month having joined on a loan deal from Real Madrid until the end of the season late in the January transfer window.

The Norwegian has since made seven appearances for Arsenal, starting four, and he also came off the bench in the first half on Sunday as Mikel Arteta’s men defeated Leicester City in the Premier League.

Odegaard is yet to contribute with a goal or an assist, but his influence has been felt, playing a part in the build-up to a number of goals, including one from Nicolas Pepe last time out.

And there is already talk the Gunners could attempt to sign Odegaard permanently in the summer with Arteta apparently liking what he has seen so far.

Whether that is going to be possible is another question with Real Madrid understood to be keen to keep their talented 22-year-old ahead of next season.

In the meantime, Odegaard appears to be getting comfortable at Arsenal and fans have spotted a change in the midfielder’s social media that proves that.

The Real Madrid midfielder’s Instagram profile picture was previously of him in a Norway shirt, even during his time at Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, or at least for the last year.

But in recent days, he has changed it to a picture of him in an Arsenal shirt. Here’s what some fans had to say about the change on Reddit.

Americanadiandrew– “His fall on the floor celebration when Auba scored the winner against Benfica cemented him as an Arsenal player.”

Vrty33 – “WE GOT HIM LADS.”

Tilnirvanatribe – “Ladies and gentlemen…We got him.”

T3sh3 – “Where’s our Mission Accomplished banner?”

Garenmain180K – “It’s happening.”

Likproper – “We should seriously get him… top player. You see the pass he gave to Willian for Pepe goal? It is obviously intentional.”

The change could hint that Odegaard is happy at Arsenal and that he might want to stay, particularly as he didn’t change it to a Real Madrid image after returning from Real Sociedad to be part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans ahead of this season.

Though, that may also be because he didn’t believe he would get a fair shot under the French boss, later demanding a loan move in January after seeing very little game time in the first half of the campaign.
