Arsenal legend’s Martin Odegaard advice as another La Liga target admits Gunners interest

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Friday March 26.

Gunners said to be ‘tracking’ Tottenham tormentor

Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a move for Dinamo Zagrab’s Mislav Orsic in the summer.

The Croatian winger shot to fame following his sensational hat-trick to eliminate north London rivals Tottenham in the Europa league as his side overturned a 2-0 first leg deficit.

According to reports in the Times , the Gunners have already been ‘tracking’ the player who could provide a transfer alternative to Martin Odegaard.

With it appearing increasingly difficult for Arsenal to pin down the on-loan Real Madrid star on a permanent deal, Orsic could be a cheaper option.

The 28-year-old Croatia international has 19 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions this season for his club.

Wright tells Arsenal to make Odegaard bid

Ian Wright believes Arsenal should look to take advantage of the financial instability at Real Madrid to try and nail down Martin Odegaard on a permanent basis.

Having already impressed during his loan spell at the Emirates, the Gunners are hoping a deal can be done to keep him at the club.

However, Real Madrid are said to be reluctant to sanction a move but with money potentially being an issue for Spanish football, Wright believes Arsenal should test their resolve with a bid.

“His contract runs out in 2023 with Madrid, we’re going through a spell where there’s not a lot of money about, Madrid need money, if Zidane stays there can you see him putting Odegaard in his team?” he said on his podcast .

“For me, I think £45million to £50million, even though we’re talking about someone who’s been on loan to Holland, Spain and now here, he’s played a handful of games but he looks so impressive.

Arsenal target aware of interest

Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez has revealed he is aware of the reported interest in him from Arsenal.

Spanish publications claim the Argentine is another player the Gunners are looking to bring in this summer, despite the player’s £68million release clause.

It is hoped a deal can be struck to land the player on a cheaper deal given the financial problems faced by La Liga sides.

The summer transfer window is just around the corner.

And the rumour mill is already starting to pick up speed.

Arsenal will not have a huge amount of money to spend, but Mikel Arteta will be hoping to make a number of moves, with loanee Martin Odegaard high up the list of priorities to bring in on a permanent deal.

The player himself has admitted he is unclear about his future following the rumours.

“I saw it because friends from Argentina asked me, but I told them that I knew the same as them,” he told Estadio Deportivo .

“I am the protagonist because I am in the news but today, I do not know more or less than you who saw it.”
