Arsenal news and transfers live: huge Marco Asensio boost, Andre Onana blow, midfield swap deal

Hello and welcome to Thursday’s live Arsenal blog brought to you by football.london.

The Gunners will be looking to make it four consecutive wins in a row in all competitions on Sunday with a win over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s young side triumphed over AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup last night thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.

With qualification for the fourth round – where they’ll face Leeds United at home – now secured, Arteta can turn his focus to Sunday’s crucial match-up with Spurs.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have lost their last two Premier League games 3-0, but they did rediscover some form in their win over Wolves last night, as they joined Arsenal in the next stage of the Cup.

Even with so much happening on the pitch at the moment, plenty is still going on elsewhere too as Arteta’s rebuild continues to take shape.

We’ll be keeping you up to date with everything that’s going on at the club so make sure you don’t miss a thing by staying with us throughout the day.
