Here’s all the news from around the Emirates Stadium over the past 24 hours.
Edu can sign Europe’s best attacking midfielder
Despite links to Arsenal, football.london has revealed that interest in Real Betis attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir is ‘tentative’ and unlikely to be pursued this summer.
This is because technical director Edu is focusing his attention on keeping Martin Odegaard at the club.
The Norway international has impressed since joining on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer window, and many fans are keen for him to extend his stay in north London.
However, if Edu reverses this decision, the Gunners can sign one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders for a cut-price £26m fee this summer in what could be a dream transfer.
According to CIES Football Observatory, Fekir is one of the top-performing players across Europe’s top-five leagues in 2021.
Perhaps surprisingly, the Frenchman ranks higher than every Premier League player except for Jorginho and Ruben Dias, and comes in at sixth behind the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Robert Lewandowski.
Furthermore, he is the only attacking midfielder in the top 10 which technically makes him the best attacking midfielder in Europe right now.
Fans love what Willian and Martinelli did in training

Both impressed during the session with the duo pulling off some fine finishes, sending a clear message to their boss Mikel Arteta ahead of this weekend.

Arsenal ‘contact’ Aguero
Arsenal have reportedly made first ‘contacts’ with Sergio Aguero’s representatives in regards to a potential free transfer this summer.
That is according to the information of journalist Lucas Scagliola, as per City Xtra, as it claimed that Mikel Arteta is keen on bringing the forward to the Emirates for a reunion.
It was announced this week that after a decade at Manchester City, the 32-year-old will leave upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June.
However, a move to Arsenal appears unlikely.
The aforementioned report states Aguero is aware of interest from within the Premier League, but would prefer a move to Europe after 10 years at the Etihad Stadium.
As a result, that stance is a boost for the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Milan whom have been tipped as potential destinations for the Argentine.
