The Gunners were gifted an early lead after Jorginho’s awful back pass ultimately allowed Emile Smith Rowe to steer home from inside the six yard box.
They then proceeded to sit back and defend for more or less the rest of the match, rarely coming out of their own half as Thomas Tuchel’s side dominated possession.
The Blues failed to create too many chances though and save for Christian Pulisic’s header that was ruled out for offside they rarely troubled Bernd Leno’s goal.

It was a good win for Arsenal despite the display that sees them move up to eighth place in the Premier League and keeps their slim hopes of qualifying for European football alive.
