Arsenal press conference live: Mikel Arteta on COVID situation, Aubameyang return and Leeds

Mikel Arteta is set to face the press ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Gunners go into the game having bounced back from a poor run of matches with impressive victories against Southampton and West Ham in their last two games.

The results leave them fourth in the Premier League ahead of rivals likes Manchester United and Tottenham who have both had games called off this week amid rising levels of COVID-19.

While Arsenal have not been hit by the most recent rise in infections around the division thus far, Arteta is likely to address the escalation in cases having been one of the first people to test positive back when the pandemic originally hit in March 2020.

The Spaniard is also expected to provide more detail on the situation surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the 32-year-old was stripped of the Gunners’ captaincy last week due to successive disciplinary breaches and has missed the last two matches as a result.

You can follow every word Arteta has to say with ‘s Arsenal writers Kaya Kaynak and Chris Wheatley in the live blog below.
