Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Thursday, August 12.

Ramsdale pursuit stepped up

Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, football.london understands.

The Gunners had previously been chasing Ajax no.1 Andre Onana before turning their attention to home-grown options, including Ramsdale and West Brom’s Sam Johnstone, as reported by football.london back in June.

And the north Londoners are now in advanced talks to bring Ramsdale to the Emirates Stadium, with a fee of around £24million upfront looking close to being agreed upon. This fee could rise up to around £30m if certain bonuses are met.

Ramsdale will offer competition to Arsenal ‘keeper Bernd Leno for the upcoming season.

Abraham meeting

Roma general manager Tiago Pinto is expected to arrive in London over the next 24 hours as the Italian giants attempt to complete the signing of Arsenal target Tammy Abraham, according to The Athletic.

The Gunners have been interested in signing Abraham for the majority of the summer but any deal to bring him to the Emirates Stadium hinges on whether or not they can offload French forward Alexandre Lacazette.

The aforementioned report claims that the 23-year-old will need to make a decision quickly as the Giallorossi want an answer from the player before the weekend or may move on to other transfer targets.

Tolisso interest revived

Arsenal’s long-standing interest in Bayern Munich wantaway Corentin Tolisso has been revived, according to French outlet L’Equipe.

The Gunners had previously been linked with the 27-year-old during his Lyon days but a move never materialised and he eventually moved to the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2017.

However, the all-action midfielder has just one year remaining on his current deal, meaning he could be available for a cut-price this summer, with some reports even claiming that he could be snapped up for less than £10m. Given the ankle injury sustained by Arsenal maestro Thomas Partey during pre-season, perhaps a move for Tolisso would make perfect sense.
