Arsenal have been linked with a speculative move for Sevilla centre-back Jules Koundé.
The French defender has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of this summer, including Manchester United and Chelsea, though the former now look more likely to move for Villarreal and Spain star Pau Torres.
Koundé has enjoyed an excellent season for Sevilla, who amassed their best-ever points tally in La Liga, finishing fourth and hanging in the title race until the penultimate round of fixtures.
But despite links with the likes of Chelsea and United, the most recent reports indicate it could be Arsenal who make the first move for the centre-back.
Though, it has been reported Sevilla could consider an offer of around £48million for their defender this summer in a bid to improve their post-pandemic finances.
The link is a surprising one given Arsenal’s reluctance to spend big fees in recent years, but a rebuild of sorts is expected to take place at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

And Arsenal are also in need of a centre-back with David Luiz moving on at the end of his contract, though William Saliba looks set to get his chance to impress after a season on loan at Nice.
Chelsea have been linked with Koundé in recent weeks, but a move for Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule appears more realistic given the German would be available for £30million or less ahead of the final year of his contract.
If United do indeed go for the aforementioned Torres, Arsenal could get the chance to sign Koundé, but spending such a large amount on the 22-year-old would be a bold move for the Gunners having been largely conservative in the market of late.
