This is just the tip of the iceberg on a huge week for Arsenal though. After announcing the formation of the European Super League, Arsenal pulled out just two days later alongside five other Premier League clubs under significant fan pressure. Hundreds of fans have been protesting outside of the Emirates Stadium prior to the game today as the negativity of the last week continues.

Everton, meanwhile, are in a similar situation to Arsenal. They find themselves in eighth and if they’re to apply pressure on the teams above them then they’ll need to start with a win tonight. With both teams in need of three points, it should hopefully lead to an open game today.

Hello and welcome to live commentary of this Premier League fixture between Arsenal and Everton. The hosts enter this one in ninth and with slim hopes of qualifying for Europe next season – they’ll be desperate for a win today to make one final push up the table.
