Arsenal vs West Ham prediction and odds: Jarrod Bowen can exploit Mikel Arteta’s defence

The pressure will be building ahead of the festive period with Arsenal welcoming West Ham United in what will be a crucial six-pointer in the race for a place in the top four.

The Gunners are favourites at 11/10 with Grosvenor Sport while the Irons are 49/20 and a draw is 13/5.

Things do not look great in the Arsenal camp at the moment with the captaincy curse hitting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the former Borussia Dortmund striker was stripped of the captaincy for disciplinary reasons.

The Gabon striker was not featured in the squad for the Southampton match as a result too and now it looks like Aubameyang might well be leaving the club – whether in January or in the summer.

Meanwhile, West Ham will be looking to extend the lead against their north London neighbours as they sit two points above their hosts.

Both sides are not in the sort of form that would warrant them a place in the top four but as things stand David Moyes’ side sit in fourth-place despite picking up just one win in their last five matches while Mikel Arteta’s side have picked up just two in five as well.

Player to watch

Jarrod Bowen is rumoured to be a transfer target for title contenders Liverpool at the moment and given his performances for West Ham it is obvious to see why.

The former Hull player has picked up three goals and five assists in 16 appearances in the Premier League so far – including a goal and an assist in West Ham’s win against Chelsea.

He has only picked up one goal away from home this season – against Aston Villa in October – but I feel this trend will end.

H2H

This will be the 145th meeting between the two sides with Arsenal picking up 68 wins compared to West Ham’s 35 along with 41 draws.
