Arsenal decide Smith Rowe stance

Arsenal’s stance on Emile Smith Rowe has emerged amid talks of a fresh third bid from Aston Villa.

Despite reports coming out that Villa are preparing to up the ante in their attempts to secure the signing of the 20-year-old this summer, encouraging news has come out for Gunners fans.

The Metro (via CaughtOffside) are reporting that the hierarchy are still ‘keen to keep’ Smith Rowe and they will offer him a new long-term deal this month.

Whether that will be enough to convince Smith Rowe to stay remains to be seen with the midfielder keen to get assurances he will be a regular next season.

football.london has previously reported how Arsenal are keen to tie Smith Rowe down to a longer-term contract.

Gabriel set to miss Olympics

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães is to withdraw from the Brazil squad for the Tokyo Olympics after picking up a knee injury, it has been confirmed.

The 23-year-old had been called up to represent his national side at this summer’s tournament in Japan after impressing in his debut season with the Gunners.

It’s unknown yet the severity of his injury, and how long he may miss out on in pre-season and maybe even the start of the season for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Gunners join the race for Tottenham target Tomiyasu

Arsenal are reportedly set to make a move to sign Tottenham target Takehiro Tomiyasu from Serie A club Bologna.

Tomiyasu, 22, was understood to have been close to sealing a move to sign for Spurs, however nothing has been agreed between the two clubs as of yet.

football.london understands that the Japanese defender’s preference is to move to Tottenham, but this reportedly won’t put the Gunners off their attempts to hijack the move.

Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia has claimed that Arsenal are now ‘talking to Bologna’ to find an agreement for the central defender.
