The next transfer window is fast approaching.

Chelsea are typically big spenders, and they may need to further strengthen their squad in January if something worthwhile presents itself in the market.

Equally, there may be the opportunity for some players to leave in the near future.

The likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are out of contract at the end of the season, while some others have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the latest rumours out there.

Alonso is being considered as a potential signing, but Chelsea will have the final say over what happens.

His father, Marcos Alonso Peña, played for the Catalan giants during his career, breaking the Spanish transfer record when he moved from Atletico Madrid in 1982.

What?

Antonio Rudiger has continued to fend off suggestions that he will leave Chelsea at the end of the season, insisting that he ‘owes’ it to the Blues to just focus on performing for his current club.

“For now I am only concentrating on what is happening right now. I owe that to the club, the coach and the team,” he said.

The German’s contract runs out in June but, as things stand, he and Chelsea are no closer to agreeing on a new deal.
