Arsenal supporters are desperate for Emile Smith Rowe to stay at the Emirates Stadium after the club turned down a £25million bid from Aston Villa.

football.londonunderstands that Villa have made a move for the 20-year-old, believed to be in the region of £25m as Dean Smith looks to bolster his attacking options.

The Midlands club have already signed Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City from right under Gunners noses after the north London outfit matched Villa’s offer for the Argentine.

Smith Rowe is now a target for Villa after an impressive breakthrough season for Arsenal – where he scored four goals and made seven assists after breaking into the team in the second half of the campaign.

The youngster has two years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium and his extension is seen as one of the priorities for the executive team this summer.

Talks are already underway over extending Smith Rowe’s deal, but Villa are now looking to try and take advantage over the uncertainty.

Arteta sees Martin Odegaard – who spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal – as his main priority in this position, but Real Madrid are reported to be keen on keeping him in the Spanish capital.
