The summer transfer window now has its wheels in motion and Arsenal fans are dreaming of a summer to remember.
The Spaniard, football.london understands, is keen on adding at least five new faces to his first-team squad this summer in a bid to transform their fortunes and turn themselves back into a more competitive force that can challenge higher up the Premier League table.
Although the window has only been open just over a week, the Gunners have been linked with a whole host of players, including Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, Yves Bissouma of Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge and Alexander Isak of Real Sociedad.
This week, however, the focus has been on Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Ben White and James Maddison of Leicester City.
The Gunners have lodged a bid for White, which has since been rejected, and have expressed a keen interest in Maddison to solve their attacking-midfield conundrum.
But as well as being keen on strengthening the attacking-midfield berth and centre-back position, the Gunners will also be on the hunt for a right-back this summer if Hector Bellerin leaves the club, with the Spaniard open to leaving the Emirates Stadium if the right opportunity presents itself.
Should Bellerin’s ten-year stay in north London come to an end, many Arsenal fans believe they have found the perfect replacement for the former Barcelona man in the shape of Netherlands international Denzel Dumfries.
The PSV Eindhoven star, who is 25-years-old, was the subject of conversation among many Arsenal supporters on social media during the first half of the Netherlands’ Euro 2020 Group C clash with Austria this evening.
The energetic right-back played a key role in Frank de Boer’s side’s opener when he won them a penalty, handing Memphis Depay the chance to sweep the Dutch into the lead, before getting on the scoresheet himself in the second half to make it 2-0, tapping home from close range.
Throughout the contest Dumfries was a thorn in Austria’s side, constantly bombing forward from right-back and giving Austria’s defenders something to think about, as proven with his goal, which was his second of the tournament.
With his performance most certainly proving to be eye-catching, no shortage of Gunners fans soon took to social media to make it clear that they hope Arsenal will show an interest in his services this summer.
Dumfries, who has been with PSV since 2018, also produced an excellent performance in the Netherlands’ 3-2 win against Ukraine on Sunday evening, netting the winner in their thrilling Euro 2020 opener.
With that said, Dumfries, who is currently valued at £14.4million by transfer specialists transfermarkt, has certainly put himself in the shop window with his two performances at this summer’s festival of football, with several clubs likely to show an interest in him.
The summer window is officially open, and it’s going to be tough to keep up with the comings and goings in and out of the Emirates.

Recently, Everton have been credited with interest in his services, meaning Arsenal could find themselves in a battle if they were to listen to the supporters’ demands.
Dumfries has made a name for himself by being an attack-minded full-back, scoring 16 goals in his PSV career.
He has now played 20 times for the Netherlands at senior international level.
