‘Bring him’, ‘Not desperate’ – Chelsea fans split on Sergio Aguero move after Man City departure

Sergio Aguero will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season and Chelsea have previously been linked with a move for him.

Announcing his departure Aguero posted on Twitter to say: “I will continue to give it my utmost for the rest of the season to win more titles and bring more joy to the fans.

“Then, a new stage with new challenges will begin and I am fully ready to face them with the same passion and professionalism that I have always dedicated to continue competing at the highest level.”

Where that new stage is has yet to be announced, but previous comments about a move to Chelsea means the Blues are one of the names in the conversation.

Speaking in 2010, Aguero said: “Chelsea are a great club. They have become one of the most feared in Europe over recent years. London would be a really amazing city to live in as well – myself and my wife could be really happy there.”

As a result fans of the Blues have taken to twitter to debate whether or not the club should look to add the Argentine striker to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Chelsea are known to be interested in signing a striker this season, as football.london have previously reported, but Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland had been the standout candidate.
