Chelsea fans go nuts over what Kai Havertz and Antonio Rudiger did for Germany

Chelsea fans loved what they saw from midfielder Kai Havertz and defender Antonio Rudiger on Sunday night.

Havertz was in action for Germany on Sunday in the World Cup qualifiers, Joachim Low’s men winning 1-0 against Romania thanks to a goal from Serge Gnabry in the 16th minute.

And the only goal was set up by Chelsea star Havertz, who has picked up form in recent weeks, taking his club form onto the international stage.

Not only did Havertz set up the goal, but Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger showed excellent awareness to feed his teammate in the lead up to the assist.

It was a Chelsea-made goal to help Germany make it two wins from as many games in the qualifiers, and indeed in this international break.

Low’s men beat Iceland 3-0 last week with Havertz actually scoring in that one, and they will face North Macedonia in their final game of the break, on Wednesday.

Now very much looking forward to the return of club action, Chelsea fans were delighted to see Havertz and Rudiger continuing their good form with Germany on Sunday.

Here’s what some Blues fans had to say on Reddit.

Don-m – “Rudiger to Havertz to gnabry. Both mount and Havertz have bagged 1G + 1A thus far.”

Nick33raps – “Rudiger really improved his ball distribution somehow recently, and what a run from Kai, the assist was even better.”
