Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Thomas Tuchel’s post-match press conference after Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Luton Town in the FA Cup fifth-round.
The game was very much overshadowed – from a Chelsea perspective at least – by the statement from Roman Abramovich ahead of kick-off that he was indeed selling the club after 19 years at the helm.
Perhaps that news impacted the Blues’ players who started the game at Kenilworth very poorly and were behind inside two minutes as Reece Burke glanced home a header.
Saul Niguez did pull Chelsea level with a nice finish from the edge of the penalty area but Tuchel’s side went into the interval behind after Harry Cornick netted.
The Blues needed a big second-half performance and eventually it arrived as a goal from Timo Werner and a close-range finish from Romelu Lukaku sealed victory and booked Chelsea’s player in the quarter-finals.
