Chelsea tipped to complete free transfer as improved £75m Jadon Sancho bid is revealed

Here’s all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Ramos to Chelsea?

Sergio Ramos could help Chelsea to win even more trophies.

That is the view of former Manchester United striker, Louis Saha who has delivered his verdict on speculation that the Blues are on the hunt for a centre-back this summer, despite extending veteran leader Thiago Silva’s deal by one year.

Ramos is available on a free transfer after his exit from Real Madrid was announced earlier in the week and is already attracting interest from the major European clubs with PSG also interested in his signature.

But Saha thinks that he’ll be a fantastic signing for Chelsea, where his impact could be as big as Silva’s when he first arrived twelve months ago.

“If you see the impact of Thiago Silva at Chelsea the impact of Sergio Ramos would be the same, or maybe even bigger,” Saha said.

“The guy is known for that type of leadership, has the ability to step up and score a lot of goals, he’s one of the best ever goalscoring defenders.”

Haaland can give Tuchel what he wants

Chelsea have a variety of options in attack and speed is clearly valued by Thomas Tuchel.

As a result, the Blues have been linked with moves for more attacking players this summer, including Erling Haaland who fits the mobility mould.

Unlike many other leagues, the German top-flight collects publicly available data regarding the physical capacity of players, with distance covered, top speed, number of sprints and number of intense runs recorded.

Haaland is a keen sprinter and his top speed ranks as the second-best in the whole of the Bundesliga.

According to the figures, the Borussia Dortmund star reached a top speed of 36 kilometres per hour this season, ranking him behind only Jeremiah St. Juste of Mainz 05, who isn’t plotted on the graph but reached 36.1 kilometres per hour

Man United make Sancho bid

Jadon Sancho is another player who has been linked with a summer move to Chelsea.

However, it would appear that he is likely to join Premier League rivals Manchester United as their improved bid for the Borussia Dortmund star has been revealed by Sky Sports.

It is claimed that United’s improved offer is worth more than £75million and the structure of the proposed bid would see the Red Devils pay more up front with the rest in achievable add-ons.

United’s initial proposal was believed to be £67million up front, plus around £8million in add-ons.

With that said, there could still be hope for Chelsea should they wish to enter the bidding race.

Reports in Germany suggest Dortmund are considering the latest offer, as they value Sancho in excess of £80million.
