Hello and welcome to football.london ‘s live coverage of the Club World Cup final, where Chelsea have the chance to win the only major trophy to have eluded them.
The squad has been boosted by Thomas Tuchel’s arrival overnight in the emirate and while Palmeiras, the Copa Libertadores champions, are certain to put up a stern test there is no sense of complaceny from the kings of Europe at Mohammed Bin Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi.
All 23 players trained last night and changes from Wednesday’s edgy 1-0 semi-final win over Al Hilal will not be plentiful as Mason Mount and Edouard Mendy are set for recalls but nine places will remain the same.
The game is being broadcast live on Channel 4 but you can follow all the action right here with chief football writer Alan Smith at the stadium and Chelsea writer Adam Newson providing the blow by blow.
Kick-off is 8:30pm local time, which is 4:30pm in London.
