Conor Gallagher saluted his older brother Jake on Saturday by celebrating his goal against Wolves at Selhurst Park with a mid-air pirouette.
The 21-year-old Chelsea loanee had promised Sky Sports presenter Peter Dale to perform the celebration when he scored in honour of his older sibling, who went viral over the summer for his unchallenged 360 spin in a Dorking Wanderers match.
And Gallagher made sure he kept that promise after firing past Wolves keeper Jose Sa in the 78th minute of the match on Saturday, heading over to the corner flag and spinning in the air in front of the Holmesdale end.
The initial clip of Jake amassed more than 15 million views on Instagram and was shared by Paris Saint-Germain players Rafinha and Alessandro Florenzi.
Conor was on loan at West Bromwich Albion at the time, and his older brother said the video had already circulated around the dressing room at the Premier League club before it started growing traction.
“I spoke to Conor after his match had finished because we kicked off just after he had done,” said Jake.
“The video had started going round already and he told me that all of the West Brom boys were showing it around the dressing room and just saying ‘look at this’ – since then it’s just gone through the roof.”
Gallagher has already scored four Premier League goals in 11 games for Crystal Palace this season – double the amount he managed for the Baggiest last year in almost three times as many games.
The midfielder’s fourth goal of the season on Saturday helped Palace beat Wolves 2-0, with Wilfried Zaha also netting for the Eagles.
