Chelsea continued their terrific start to the Premier League season with a 2-0 win at Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
Romelu Lukaku opened his Blues account within the opening quarter of an hour, before Reece James fired home the second before the half-time break.
It was a relivately routine victory for Thomas Tuchel’s men, as they dominated from the off and limited the Gunners to minimal opportunities throughout the 90 minutes.
The success has put Chelsea joint-top with Liverpool on goal difference after both sides have scored five without reply from their first two matches.
Their performance also impressed Blues legend Didier Drogba, who had a little bit of fun with a cheekily worked post on social media.
After the full-time whistle, the Ivorian said: @Arsenal VS @ChelseaFC same old story.
Chelsea have lost just four of the last 20 league clashes against the Gunners, dating back to October 2011 when a Robin van Persie hat-trick sealed a 5-3 win for Arsenal Wenger’s side.
Drobga was victorious in nine of his league matches versus the Gunners and famously scored the winner in the FA Cup semi final in 2009.
As Chelsea’s record over the years at the Emirates is usually pretty good, Drogba’s message went down well amongst the Blues faithful.
After finishing last season strong by winning the Champions League, Chelsea will want to continue that form that mount a title charge in 2021/22.
The 43-year-old continued with tweeting another message shortly after: “My team strong, real strong @ChelseaFC”.
Despite leaving the club seven years ago, there’s no doubt he still loves the Blues and has that strong connection with the supporters after he served them so well during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel’s side, however, will be hoping to continue their 100% start when they make the trip to fellow title contenders Liverpool next weekend.
