Dusan Vlahovic, Noussair Mazraoui – Latest Arsenal transfer rumours ahead of January window

The January transfer window is fast approaching.

As a number of players are set to miss at least a few weeks of action because of the Africa Cup of Nations, Edu may need to dip into the market to add to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad.

Meanwhile, some player’s have uncertain futures at the Emirates.

The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are coming to the end of their contracts at the club and may well benefit from a January move.

What?

Fiorentina are preparing to offer a new contract offer worth €7million (£5.9milion) per season to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Vlahovic, but the Serbian is unlikely to accept it.

Vlahovic rejected a new contract offer – which incidentally would’ve made him the club’s highest paid player – earlier in the year.

Since then, he’s been almost certain to leave Fiorentina and several clubs are lining up to take him away from the Serie A giants.

He’s in no mood to entertain any new offers but Fiorentina are willing to try regardless.

If he rejects their latest attempt, they’ll be willing to cash in on him in the January window.

Who?

Noussair Mazraoui

What?

Mazraoui’s contract situation at Ajax is alerting English clubs.

His deal at the Eredivisie is set to expire in June 2022 and with no formalisation on an extension, there is a feeling the full-back may become available as a free agent.

Leeds and Arsenal have both been linked with him, while it is understood Brighton and Manchester City also have him on their list.

With Arsenal needing an alternative to Takehiro Tomiyasu, a cheap move for an established player who is still relatively young (24) may be a good option moving forward.

Who?

Calum Chambers and Ainsley Maitland-Niles

What?

Everton have identified Chambers as their back-up plan in January should they fail in their pursuit of his Arsenal teammate, Maitland-Niles.

Rafael Benitez is looking to bolster Everton in the right back position and he is said to have identified two players that find themselves on the periphery at Arsenal.

The Spaniard is exploring the viability of bringing Chambers to Goodison Park in the winter window for a ‘nominal fee’.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Chambers is ready to leave the Gunners after seven years in north London.
