Eddie Nketiah and Lucas Torreira close to transfers as brutal Arsenal prediction made

Here is your football.londonArsenal morning digest on Tuesday, August 24.

Lucas Torreira move to Fiorentina agreed

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is close to joining Italian giants Fiorentina, football.london understands.

Torreira joined the Gunners in 2018 and quickly made himself popular among the supporters with man-of-the-match performances against Liverpool and Tottenham, scoring an iconic goal in a famous north London derby win.

football.london has learned that the deal is likely to be a loan move with an obligation to buy at the end of it.

The 25-year-old previously admitted his frustrations at the Emirates Stadium resulted in him seeing a psychologist in the Spanish capital.

“A year ago I had been working with a psychologist in Spain because when in the second year at Arsenal I played very little,” Torreira told the Metro.

Eddie Nketiah linked to Crystal Palace move

Crystal Palace are ready to bid £10million for Eddie Nketiah, according to the latest reports.

As football.london understands, Nketiah could leave this window, but his ankle injury, which is set to keep him out until September, has made selling him that little more difficult.

Crystal Palace are reportedly preparing a bid of £10million for the out-of-favour forward, who looks to have fallen behind both Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun in the frontline pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

That valuation is said to be shared by an unnamed team in Germany, who are thought to have seen two approaches knocked back as Arsenal attempt to achieve a price of around £20million.

‘They’re going to be in page two Arsenal this season, I can see them finishing 13th or 14th,’ he told talkSPORT.

‘If they stick with Arteta they are going to finish in the bottom half of the season. Look at them, they’re miles off it.

‘They’ve got no direction, no plan. All these young lads are just potential, but you need leaders in the dressing room to get the best out of them. There isn’t any leaders in the team.’
