It is shaping up to be a summer of change at Arsenal.
Facing a season without European football for the first time in over two decades – barring a miracle in the final three games of the campaign – plenty of work is needed if the Gunners are to ensure it’s only a temporary absence.
One way to avoid another disappointing Premier League campaign is by improving the squad in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have already been linked with moves for the likes of Moussa Dembele, Max Aarons, and Sander Berge just to name a few, but there could be some major outgoings at the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Athletic, a ‘transfer decision’ has been made by at least five senior Arsenal players.
In terms of David Luiz and Bellerin, this stance comes as little surprise as the Brazilian is out of contract this summer and the latter has long been tipped to end his 10-year stay in north London.
The idea of Willian wanting to leave could cause plenty of reaction from fans as he’s struggled for consistency following his free transfer from Chelsea last summer and Xhaka was on the verge of leaving before Mikel Arteta changed his mind.
Meanwhile, football.london understands Leno is open to leaving Arsenal this summer with the club willing to sell him for the right price, but the German insists he’s happy.
“I am still happy at Arsenal. Arsenal is still a big club, a big name in the world and in the Premier League,” Leno told Sky Sports. “There is nobody in the dressing room who says ‘I want to leave the club, I am not happy here anymore’.
“We still have a good environment at the club and in the dressing room. Of course, at times it was not easy this season, but this is part of football.
“It’s not good to feel sorry for ourselves, we need to move forward and change it to a positive as soon as possible.”
Aside from Luiz who would not command a transfer fee as a free agent, there’s potential that the Gunners are a step closer to receiving a nice windfall.
Based on each of the quartet’s estimated transfer values on CIES Football Observatory, a dream scenario would see them leave and Arsenal recoup just over £50million.

Interestingly, Xhaka is the highest valued player of the quartet at €20m, while Bellerin and Leno’s estimated values of €15m takes the potential cash injection into the €50m region.
And Willian’s €10m valuation rounds things off at €60m (£51m).
With more player sales expected, this could be the start of Arteta and Edu’s quest to overhaul the Arsenal squad ahead of next season.
