Arsenal have made a solid enquiry for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.
That is according to the Transfer Window podcast, who claim the Frenchman is expected to move on in the summer when he will only have a year remaining on his contract with the Scottish giants.
But for the Gunners to repeat that transfer trick they will have to fend off interest from Serie A giants AC Milan and AS Roma, whilst there is the prospect of Edouard reuniting with former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City.
With that said, it would appear that Arsenal have made their move, with transfer chief Edu engaging in talks with The Hoops by reportedly making a solid enquiry for the France U21 international.
This development comes hot on the heels of Alexandre Lacazette deciding his future at the Emirates Stadium.
As reported by football.london, the 29-year-old – who has scored 10 goals across all competitions for Mikel Arteta‘s side so far this season – looks set to depart this summer if the right offer comes in.
Lacazette was close to leaving last summer as the likes of Atletico Madrid and Roma were heavily linked, but no move materialised due to the lack of transfer funds available for either side.
And if the Frenchman does end his four-year stint in north London at the end of the season, it would seem that Edouard has been earmarked as his perfect replacement.
Edouard has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, but will this summer finally see this particular transfer completed?
That remains to be seen, although the good news for Gunners supporters is that Arteta and technical director Edu have already begun looking ahead to what is shaping up to be a busy summer.
As first reported by football.london, the Gunners’ squad planning for the summer transfer window is underway, with several players having uncertainties over their futures at the club.

One of which includes Lucas Torreira. The Uruguay international is currently on loan at La Liga giants Atletico Madrid and there is already talk of his permanent departure.
The Sun have recently claimed that Torreira is one of the nine first-team players who could be sold in a cost-cutting mission and reports from Gazzetta dello Sport stated that Fiorentina are ‘well ahead’ in talks and that the midfielder has already given Arsenal the ‘green light’ to complete the transfer.
If both reports are true then Edu has already opened talks over two Arsenal deals ahead of the summer transfer window – one incoming and one outgoing.
