Edu has decided Arsenal’s next six moves in the summer transfer window after Kieran Tierney deal

The summer transfer window has been open for just over a week now, and Arsenal are beginning to make moves.

Despite no new arrivals at the Emirates Stadium just yet, all signs are pointing towards Gunners manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu being extremely busy all the way up until deadline day.

Prior to the window opening, Arsenal did announce as many as four first-team departures.

David Luiz will officially depart the Emirates Stadium when his contract expires at the end of the month, whilst Mat Ryan, Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos have returned to their respective parent clubs after loan spells.

But one player who is certainly staying in north London is Kieran Tierney.

As reported by football.london on Friday afternoon, the Scotland international has agreed a new five-year contract with the Gunners and is expected to sign it in the coming days.

With that said, another new contract announcement is in the works as Arsenal have already started talks with Emile Smith Rowe in regards to an extension, although he is not yet ‘close’ to signing.

Tying the attacking midfielder down to a new deal is one of six moves Edu appears to be working on.

Two of which are potential new signings.

Despite having a £40m bid for Ben White rejected by Brighton and Hove Albion, the Gunners haven’t given up hope of luring the England international to the Emirates.

In fact, football.london understands that a decision has been made to return with a second offer in order to secure White’s signature relatively quickly.

Whilst Brighton are said to be holding out £50m, Arsenal are hopeful of finding a compromise, with their second bid likely to be around the £45m mark.

In addition, Edu is hopeful of wrapping up a deal for Anderlecht’s central midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga despite a £12.9m offer being knocked back earlier in the week.

Whilst in terms of outgoings, several players are deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates.

This includes the likes of Granit Xhaka, Eddie Nketiah, Sead Kolasinac, Matteo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

The summer window is officially open, and it’s going to be tough to keep up with the comings and goings in and out of the Emirates.

Arsenal are in advanced talks with Stuttgart over a permanent £7m deal for Mavropanos, Xhaka is closing in on a switch to Serie A side AS Roma and according to Turkish daily Takvim, via Inside Futbol, Trabzonspor have opened negotiations to sign Kolasinac.

So, the next week could see plenty of movement as Edu looks to give Arteta exactly what he needs ahead of the new season.
