Arsenal’s summer exodus could be set to continue with defender Sead Kolasinac being eyed by a number of European clubs.

The Gunners have already waved goodbye to centre-back David Luiz, whose contract at the Emirates Stadium came to an end at the conclusion of the 2020/21 season.

Meanwhile, the likes of Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Mesut Ozil have all departed north London over the past six months. Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi are also all rumoured to be edging close to the exit door.

That could be set to continue with Bernd Leno, Hector Bellerin, Willian, Alexandre Lacazette and even Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer.

Another candidate for departure is full-back Kolasinac. football.london understands that Serie A giants Lazio are interested in the defender alongside Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

The Bosnian has today been heavily linked with Olympiacos, but the Greek side are not in the market for a left-back at the current time.

football.london understands that both of the interested parties are aiming for a permanent deal for Kolasinac but the Gunners are only likely to receive a very small fee despite the 28-year-old still having two years left on his contract.

Signed from Schalke 04 on a free transfer in 2017, Kolasinac has gone on to make 113 appearances for Arsenal but fell out of favour under Mikel Arteta.

He made just nine appearances throughout the first half of the 2020/21 campaign before returning to his former club on loan.

There, Kolasinac made 17 Bundesliga appearances but could do nothing to avoid Schalke suffering relegation to the second tier of German football.

Following confirmation of his move back to Schalke, Arsenal’s technical director Edu suggested that the intention was for the left-back to get back up to first-team speed.

He said: “Sead needs to be playing regularly, so we have decided together that a move back to Germany with Schalke will benefit him at this moment.

“We will be keeping in close contact with Sead, and wish him huge success for the remainder of the season with Schalke.”
