Jordan Pickford Three games, three clean sheets. The Everton man is having a really good tournament. Only crib is the occasional need to speed up his distribution. 7

Kyle Walker A bit more conservative compared to Luke Shaw but that allowed Bukayo Saka additional freedom in front of him. 6

John Stones An outlet from attacking set pieces and always sought to find a team-mate on the ground rather than going long. 7

Harry Maguire No rust on show in his first action in about six weeks. Looked a lot more composed on the ball compared to Tyrone Mings and dealt with everything that came his way. 7

Luke Shaw Got forward with a lot more regularity compared to four days’ previous and dependable defensively. 7

Declan Rice Replaced at half-time for Jordan Henderson. Whether it was tactical or injury related was unclear but he had been quiet for the opening period. 4

Kalvin Phillips Amost robbed of possession when dawdling early on but not a mistake he made twice. Had a role in the build up to Raheem Sterling’s goal and generally very tidy. 6

Bukayo Saka Outstanding. The Arsenal academy product produced the directness England’s attack had craved and you can read a lot more about that here. 9

Raheem Sterling Excellent. Moved inside to the No10 role in Mason Mount’s absence. Struck the post with only 109 seconds on the clock when zipping past a high Czech line and lifting the ball over Vaclik from a difficult angle before then arriving well to score his and England’s second goal of the tournament. 8

Jack Grealish Provided the assist for the goal and ate his way through plenty of defensive work, allaying any concerns on that end. Impact on the game waned in second half but decision to take him off for Jude Bellingham was still met with a chorus of boos. 7

Harry Kane A far more energetic start as he dopped deep less than two minutes in and made a decent dribble before then trying to find Kyle Walker with a long diagonal a few minutes later. Struck his first attempt on target of the tournament 25 minutes in, denied by a solid Vaclik save. 7
