Hello and welcome along to football.london’s live coverage of the draw for the last-16 of this season’s UEFA Europa League.
After navigating their way through their respective groups with minimal fuss, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also successfully come through the first knockout stage of the competition, albeit in very different circumstances.
Spurs defeated Austrian minnows Wolfsberger AS 8-1 on aggregate over the course of the two legs, featuring a 4-0 win in the second-leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday evening, whilst Arsenal produced an heroic comeback against Portuguese giants Benfica in Greece last night, winning 3-2.
Arsenal were set to be dumped out of the competition on away goals until Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang connected with Bukayo Saka’s cross to snatch an 87th minute winner on the night and a 4-3 win on aggregate, ensuring they kept their hopes of winning a trophy this season alive.
The north London duo will be joined in the hat this lunchtime by Premier League rivals Manchester United, as well as Scottish outfit Rangers, who knocked out Royal Antwerp 9-5 on aggregate.
Unlike the Round of 32, the last-16 in the Europa League can see anyone pitched up against anyone, meaning it is possible that two of the three remaining English clubs could be drawn against each other.
The draw is poised to get underway at 12pm UK time and you can follow it all as it happens on our dedicated live blog below.
