Fabio Paratici could be set to secure a useful cash injection for Tottenham this summer with the respective sales of a current first-team duo.
It is reported that the two could depart as new boss Nuno Espirito Santo attempts a squad revamp ahead of his debut campaign in charge.
The respective sales of the duo could well account for a considerable windfall for Spurs and assist them in a move for Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero.
football.london understands that talks to bring the Argentine to north London are advanced, with Italian international goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini also close to a move to Spurs.
It has previously been reported by CalcioMercato in the past that Atalanta could demand up to €60 (£51.7m) for Romero this summer and whilst the sales of both Dier and Doherty would not secure that amount, they would go a long way in seeing Spurs provide the fee.
As per transfermarkt, Dier is valued at £19.8m, with Doherty sitting slightly behind at £14.4m. Whilst it remains to be seen whether Paratici would be able to seal quite that amount, £34.2m for the two would certainly be excellent value.
The two sales would also see two fringe players depart north London too.
Despite enjoying a promising start to life with Spurs following his move from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Doherty only ended up making 13 Premier League starts throughout the campaign as he failed to dislodge Serge Aurier. The Irishman still has three years left to run on his current deal.
Meanwhile, Dier has also fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons. The Englishman made 39 appearances in all competitions last season, with 28 of those coming in the Premier League.
He is also under contract until 2024.
