Fulham vs Man City player ratings: Tosin caught napping as leaders put three past Areola

Alphonse Areola Faced a quiet start but made a decent stop down low to deny Bernardo Silva not long after the half hour mark. Little he could have done about John Stones’ goal as the failure to mark the City international proved costly and was easily rounded by Gabriel Jesus for the second. Went the right way for Sergio Aguero’s penalty but could not keep it out. 5

Kenny Tete Right back did well when faced with double threat of Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus as the Brazilian often drifted left in the first half. 6

Joachim Andersen Struck the mishit clearance that was blocked and led to Jesus making it 2-0. Had been really good up until that moment. 5

Tosin Adarabioyo Up against his former team, the centre back looked really assured in the opening period but was caught napping from the set piece that led to Stones’ opener and then fouled Ferran Torres for the penalty. 5

Ola Aina Left back saw precious opportunity to push forward. and Ferran Torres was a handful. 6

Harrison Reed The deepest member of the midfield three, he often ended up falling into the backline in the second half when man-marking Jesus. Did his best to get the hosts moving when in possession and involved in some nice triangles. 6

Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa Spent much of the evening tracking Rodri’s movement from midfield. Did not stop chasing. 6

Mario Lemina Involved in a couple of decent passing moves in the opening 45 minutes but little impact in the defensive or attacking third. Subbed with about 20 minutes to go. 5

Ademola Lookman Lot of effort but too few touches in the areas that matter. 5

Ruben Loftus-Cheek Back into the XI and started as a false nine as City sprung a surprise by starting with three centre halves. But the Chelsea loanee made little impact in spite of hard work. 5

Ivan Cavaleiro Had a sizeable task tracking back as Joao Cancelo sought to get forward from the right of City’s defence. In the way of Andersen’s clearance for City’s second having initially played the defender a slack pass. 5

Aleksandar Mitrovic (for Loftus-Cheek, 63) Tried to make his physical presence felt. 5

Josh Onomah (for Lemina, 73) n/a

Antonee Robinson (for Cavaleiro, 80) n/a

Subs not used Fabri, Hector, Ream, Kongolo, Bryan, Maja.
