Gareth Bale reveals Lucas Moura’s goal celebration and what WM stands for in Spurs dressing room

Tottenham fans cannot wait to see more of Gareth Bale in action following an outstanding display in the team’s 4-0 win over Burnley.

Appearing to be edging back to his best in the past few matches, the Welshman hit a fine double as Jose Mourinho’s men got back on track following a run of five defeats in their last six league games.

As well as making it four goals in his last four Spurs appearances, the 31-year-old also got an assist to his name with a brilliant long ball over the top for Harry Kane to go on and finish.

Unleashing a front four of Bale, Kane, Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura, the quartet have left fans wanting more after running riot against the Clarets and causing a host of problems over the course of the game.

Asked what it’s like to play in Mourinho’s dream attack, Bale, speaking to Spurs TV, said: “Yeah, of course, and we have the talent, we have the players to score a lot of goals, so it was nice to get four today as a team.

“As I said, the clean sheet was very important again. We keep building, growing in confidence and hopefully this is the start of something good now.”

While results may not have been exactly great for Tottenham in February, especially in the league, Spurs have played well at times but unfortunately not come away with the three points.

They managed to do both in the win over Burnley and Bale is now looking forward to building on the victory and kicking on with some very important games coming up in the race for the top four.

“For sure. I think in football you don’t always get out what you put in,” he added. “Some performances have been really good and maybe we have’t won.

“As I said, it’s important now to build on this game and look forward.”

Initially struggling to find his form following his return to the club from Real Madrid in September, the loanee appears to have come on in leaps and bounds over the past month.

Hooked after 61 minutes in the 1-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion after a dire display, Bale is now looking a lot more confident and the goals are duly flowing.

Gareth Bale celebrates his first goal against Burnley with Lucas Moura joining in with the celebrations

So is he now back to where he wants to be?

“Yeah, no, I’m building. Yeah, it’s taken a while, but yeah, I’m happy,” admitted the attacker.

“I’m growing in confidence, my fitness is getting better and obviously then I think you can see that in my performance.”

Once again producing his ‘W’ celebration after netting his first goal, plenty of Tottenham fans noticed Lucas join in with him but instead choosing to do the ‘L’ with each hand.

Bale could be seen giving his teammate a funny look seconds after opening the scoring, with him then jokingly waving his finger directly at the TV camera as Lucas did the same after the team’s fourth of the afternoon.

So what exactly was Lucas’ celebration all about?

Struggling to contain his laughter when asked for an explanation, he revealed: “Because everyone is saying ours is Welsh Mafia, he’s decided to go with just Lucas!”
