Former West Ham boss Harry Redknapp has praised David Moyes for the ‘fantastic’ job he is doing at the club.
Moyes led the Hammers to a top-six finish and a spot in next season’s Europea League, a competition Redknapp believes the club can go on and win.
“England to win the Euro’s and West Ham next year to win the UEFA Cup [Europa League] there’s the double for you,” he predicted.
Redknapp is excited to see the Hammers back in Europe but felt that with a little bit of fortune Moyes could have led the team into the Champions League.
“The team is a good team and they were so unlucky. They could have finished in the top four so easily, it was very small margins in the end,” he said.
“We’ll take a UEFA Cup [Europa League] place next year and look forward to having a real run in that competition, it is going to be great fun for the West Ham fans.”
Redknapp spoke in glowing terms of the job Moyes has done at West Ham and, in particular, in the transfer market.
“[He has been] fantastic and I’m really looking forward to seeing the team back in Europe next year, it’s going to be brilliant,” he said.
“David [Moyes] did a great job, [he] made some really good signings, I thought Dawson was a great signing.
“Craig Dawson, that was the signing of a British manager, only a British manager could have made that signing, because nobody else would have looked at him.
“He [Moyes] knew that he was a proper player, proper bloke, he knew that he would come in and do a job, head it, no big thrills, get on with it, he scored a few goals as well.
“To take him on loan from Watford where he could not get in the team and to bring him in at West Ham it was an amazing signing and he was so important to what West ham achieved.”

Dawson was not the only new signing this season that Redknapp was impressed with, the 74-year-old enjoys watching the entire team but singled out Vladimir Coufal for praise.
“I love the team,” he said.
“I like the right-back [Vladimir Coufal] I think he is exceptional, the Czech boy, what a good player he is, he is a throwback to the old days, proper hard, people never get by him.”
