Thomas Tuchel has made several changes for tonight’s Carabao Cup clash against Aston Villa, much to the delight of Chelsea fans.
The Blues have made an exceptional start to the new season and are subsequently undefeated in all competitions going into the game at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea hosted Villa in the Premier League less than two weeks ago. Although the midlands club threatened to spoil the day on that occasion, the Blues’ defence remained resolute whereas in attack, two goals from Romelu Lukaku and a tidy finish by Mateo Kovacic were enough to provide Tuchel with all three points.
They backed up that performance with wins over Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League and another comfortable 3-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday.
With so many games coming thick and fast, Chelsea fans are happy that Tuchel has decided to mix things up a bit.
The likes of Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi come into the starting line-up, and all three will be looking to stake their claim for more minutes.
Meanwhile, fans are particularly excited by Ruben Loftus-Cheek‘s re-introduction.
The Englishman looked destined to leave the club in the summer, but Tuchel has challenged him to fight for a place in the Chelsea squad.
Take a look at what some fans have said about the selection on Twitter.
Elsewhere, Kepa Arrizabalaga keeps his position in goal, whilst N’Golo Kante captains the side as he continues to rebuild his fitness following a short-term injury battle.
