‘He’s staying!’- Spurs fans react as Nuno includes Harry Kane in squad amid Man City rumours

There has been a mixed reaction from Spurs fans when it comes to seeing Harry Kane in the squad for Nuno Espirito Santo’s reunion with former club Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon at the Molineux.

Kane, 28, had been rumoured to have travelled with the squad for the first time since he made his intentions clear of wanting to leave the north Londoners at the end of last season.

He finds himself on the bench with the same front three that featured on the opening weekend against Man City rightfully keeping their places for this contest in the west Midlands.

It is no surprise to see the serial goalscorer in the squad today, especially considering Espirito Santo’s comments this week which have consistently hinted at an inclusion for his key man.

“I cannot answer that,” the Portuguese said in his pre-match Pacos de Ferreira press conference on Wednesday.

“What I can tell you is he’s better. He’s getting his fitness better and better each day.

“He worked today, he’s going to work tomorrow and he’s going to join the group on Friday. And on Saturday we’re going to make a decision on who’s going to be involved in the next game.”

Here’s how a select number of different Spurs fans reacted to the team news on social media.

@johnrhueston tweeted: ‘Big test today again for Sanchez and Dier. No Romero but Nuno persists with Winks. Not surprised Kane on the bench. Still feel he’ll be gone by the end of transfer window.’

@skipperThfc is not impressed with Nuno: ‘Nuno saying he doesn’t want players in the squad who is not fully committed to spurs …

‘And he decided to exclude Tanguy and decided to bring kane to the squad..

‘Make sense….’

On the other hand, @TikTokTottenham is happy with the Portuguese’ decision making: ‘Well played Nuno [followed by clapping emoji].’

@JohnHall1985 has a message to all Spurs fans who are contemplating whether to boo Kane if he comes on: ‘If you boo Harry Kane today – Get in the bin!

A mixed response from fans who don’t know how to feel after the whole transfer fiasco which is still going on around whether the 28-year-old will or will not complete his rumoured £150million move to Man City before the August 31 deadline.
