Jamie Carragher has named Vladimir Coufal as the right-back in his Premier League team of the season – and the former Liverpool player was full of praise for the Hammer.
The 28-year-old made 34 league appearances for the Hammers and contributed seven assists, second only to Aaron Cresswell for the Hammers.
Across the eight Sky Sports pundits to have named their team of the year, only Gary Neville and Paul Merson did not select Coufal.
Alongside Carragher, all of Jamie Redknapp, Don Goodman, Sue Smith, Alan Smith, and Andy Hinchliffe named the Czech international as the top right-back in the Premier League this season.
Forner England defender Carragher was effusive in his praise for Coufal.
“At right-back I’ve gone for Vladimir Coufal, I love him,” he said. “He plays week in, week out, has been brilliant and typifies West Ham’s season.”
Coufal cost the Hammers just £5.4million at the end of last summer’s transfer window arriving from Slavia Prague and has proven himself to be excellent value for money.
As well as his excellent return of seven assists, the full-back is second to only Trent Alexander-Arnold when it comes to chances created by right-back across the league.

Coufal has provided his teammates with 39 goalscoring opportunities compared to the 75 by the Englishman this season, and the Czech topped the list of successful tackles made with 64, ten higher than his nearest rival Alexander-Arnold.
The 28-year-old’s fine form has been recognised on the international stage, with Coufal called up for the Czech Republic squad for the upcoming European Championships.
The defender could come head-to-head with two Hammers colleagues Jesse Lingard and Declan Rice when the Czech Republic take on England at Wembley on June 22.
