Ian Wright and Rob Holding have sent a classy message to outgoing defender Zech Medley after the Arsenal defender joined KV Oostende.
The 20-year-old joined the Hale End academy in 2016 from Chelsea, where he captained the Under-18s at times, before establishing himself as a staple for the U23s.
Medley spent last season on loan, firstly at Gillingham before switching to Kilmarnock for the second half of the campaign.
football.londonunderstands that Mikel Arteta wanted to keep Medley at the club, but the youngster wanted a fresh challenge after a four-and-a-half year stay in north London, which is why he’s now moved to Belgium.
Medley took to his Instagram page to bid an emotional farewell to Arsenal after his spell in the capital.
The caption read: “In the last 5 years God blessed me with an opportunity to live a dream I’ve had since a kid!
“During this time I’ve been able to make brothers for life and memories I’m certain I’ll never forget.
“I would like to thank everyone involved at Arsenal for the amazing journey and learning experiences I’ve had to make me into the player I am today and especially my family who have been there for me every single step of the way!
