‘It’s Gilmour time!’ – Chelsea fans love what Thomas Tuchel has done against Sheffield United

Chelsea fans have taken to social media to react to Thomas Tuchel’s team selection for the FA Cup quarter-final tie against Sheffield United.

So far, the Blues have swept Morecambe, Luton Town, and Barnsley aside and will face Premier League opposition for the first time in this season’s competition.

Confidence in the Chelsea squad should be high after reaching the Champions League quarter-final four days ago by overcoming La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid 3-0 on aggregate.

And with Thomas Tuchel’s side also in contention for a top-four finish, it could be a great end to the season for the west London outfit with two trophies up for grabs.

But first, they must overcome a Sheffield United side that has saved their best performances for the FA Cup this season.

In an attempt to ensure his side are not on the wrong side of a cup shock, Tuchel has decided to freshen things up by making changes to the team that started against Atletico.

Nine to be exact.

Edouard Mendy, Reece James, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger, N’Golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, and Timo Werner all drop out.

That means there are recalls for the likes of Andreas Christensen, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, and Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea XI: Kepa; Hudson-Odoi, Christensen, Zouma, Chilwell; Kovacic, Gilmour, Pulisic, Mount, Emerson; Giroud

Most of the reaction from Chelsea supporters on social media has centered around the inclusion of Billy Gilmour in the lineup.
