James Maddison’s transfer stance revealed as Arsenal set to receive financial boost

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Saturday, July 24.

Maddison’s London stance revealed

James Maddison is ‘open’ to sealing a switch to London this summer amid transfer interest from Arsenal, according to 90Min.

The Leicester City and England midfielder is on the Gunners’ radar, football.london understands, but for the Foxes to even consider a bid, it would need to be in the region of £60million, according to recent reports.

Brendan Rodgers ‘ side are ‘not actively looking to move Maddison on’, but they are aware of Arsenal’s interest in the 24-year-old.

Maddison signed a new long-term contract with Leicester last year, meaning the Foxes are under no real pressure to sell their midfielder.

Arsenal to be handed financial boost

Arsenal are set to receive around £250,000 when Donyell Malen completes his £25m move to Borussia Dortmund from PSV Eindhoven, football.london understands.

Malen, now 22, joined the Gunners’ academy in 2015 before moving back to his homeland Holland two years later.

The Netherlands international enjoyed an impressive season for PSV last term and has earned a big-money move to Dortmund, who have plenty of cash following the sale of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, that was confirmed yesterday.

Dortmund will pay a fee of around £25m for Malen and his former club Ajax will receive 1.5 per cent, while Arsenal will be given 1 per cent.
