Jose Mourinho has stated that he and his players are motivated as they have ever been despite a run of five defeats from their last six Premier League games.
Riding high in the table prior to Christmas and in a very good position to kick on in 2021, Tottenham are now down in ninth after a huge dip in form since the turn of the year.
Spurs still have 14 games left to secure a top-four finish but that will only happen if they get back to winning ways as soon as possible and don’t fall even further behind their rivals.
Losing 2-1 away at West Ham last time out in the league, Spurs dominated the game in the second half but couldn’t add to Lucas Moura’s header as both Gareth Bale and Son Heung-min struck the woodwork.
Mourinho saw positives in the defeat in east London and he has claimed that there is “no depression” hanging over the side and that everyone at the club is determined to turn things around and get their season back on track.
“The positives are there in our performances so now it is important that we get back to converting this into points in the league, starting with this afternoon’s opponents as we welcome Burnley to our home,” he said in his column in Tottenham’s matchday programme (which you can purchase here) for the Burnley game.
“When you are in a difficult run of results, you need victories to turn that around and I know everybody in that dressing room is determined to make that happen.
