Lionel Messi has already told Arsenal why they should complete £18m transfer for ‘magical’ star

Luka Jovic continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal, and now the Real Madrid attacker is reportedly considering leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.

Last month, Defensa Central reported that the Gunners were interested in signing the 23-year-old striker, who is valued at £18million on Transfermarkt.

Now, a new report from the same news outlet claims that Jovic is seriously considering moving on from Real Madrid, with the Serbia international struggling for game time under Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Jovic has featured just seven times in all competitions for Madrid so far this season, and every single one of those appearances have been from the substitutes’ bench.

So, it’s no surprise that the Serbian forward is said to be seeking a way out of the Bernabeu, despite still having just under four years remaining on his contract in the Spanish capital.

Prior to his move to Madrid, Jovic was firing them in from all angles at German club Eintracht Frankfurt, but for whatever reason, since the £56million move in the summer of 2019, things have not quite worked out for the striker in Spain.

However, he is clearly still very highly-rated, and Lionel Messi – arguably the greatest footballer of all-time – described Jovic as “magical” when speaking about the Real Madrid attacker last year.

When discussing the 15 best rising talents in European football as part of a campaign with Topps’ football cards, as per Sport Bible, Messi said this on Jovic: “[He is] a magical player who makes the impossible possible.”

Real Madrid boss Ancelotti does not want Jovic to leave, though, with the former Everton manager insisting the striker is “happy” to be playing his football in the Spanish capital.

“I think Jovic is fine, happy to be here,” Ancelotti said on Jovic earlier in the week. “I try to give him all the love possible.

“He is a player that I like as a striker. He knows it. He has the best striker in the world in front of him in Benzema. He should have faith that he is going to have his opportunity and that he can recover well.”

Jovic has been criticised since arriving at Real Madrid and he responded to those messages over the summer and insisted he “did not arrive at Real Madrid by accident”.

Speaking to Informer, the Madrid man said: “I haven’t spoken with the new coach [Carlo] Ancelotti about my situation. He has started preparing and I am giving everything I can in every moment, trying to impose myself and to be best prepared as possible for the new season.

“I try to give a positive impression and show what is my best. Many things have happened in recent years.

“I am sure that I could have been better, but I want everything to turn out well in the end. I didn’t arrive at Real Madrid by accident.”
