What to Know
Liverpool took care of business against Norwich City on the road in the teams’ previous meeting last August and will be looking to do the same thing back at Anfield. They will face off against one another at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday. Liverpool has a defense that allows only 0.79 goals per game, so Norwich’s offense will have their work cut out for them.
On Sunday, the Reds won by a goal, slipping past Burnley 1-0. The Liverpool offense checked out after the first half but had enough goals banked to take the contest anyway.
Meanwhile, Norwich’s and Manchester City’s game on Saturday was up for grabs at halftime, but Norwich was thoroughly outmatched 3 to nothing in the second half. Things couldn’t have gone much worse for Norwich as they lost 4-0.
Liverpool’s win lifted them to 16-2-6 (second place with 54 points) while Norwich City’s loss dropped them down to 4-15-5 (18th place with 17 points). Allowing an average of 2.08 points per game, the Canaries haven’t exactly asserted themselves on the defensive end. We’ll see if they can patch up the holes in their defense before their upcoming match.
